I’ve had Photoshop CS3 on my Mac now for over a year, and haven’t the foggiest idea on how to use it.  Ms Claire Daly pointed me in the direction of Jessica Sprague (thank you thank you)!

I’ve just taken my very first course in basic photo editing and LOVED IT!!  I’m ready for the next one now, adding frames and brushes etc.

Anyway, here’s my last post’s photo edited in Photoshop now.

Of course my colour blind husband prefers the other editing I was doing in iPhoto’s!!

    Which do you prefer?

Here’s a few more shots of my spunky boys!

This one was changed to B&W, Colourized and Flipped.

    Changed to B&W and Colourised.

So this might mean you see some scrapbooking!!!

    It’s that time again :)

I had something else in mind when this sketch came up, but at the last moment it all got changed.  Colours, Stamps the whole lot!

The background is quite hard to see.  I heavily sponged it and stamped it randomly, then spritzed it with water which gave it a softer look, I think you can only just see the stamped images now.

You may have noticed a new Donation Button in my sidebar (if not, it’s just under my newsletter sign up box).

My downline Madonna Dunn and a team of other demonstrators are raising funds to provide a special Chair for Miss Lara May (Madonna’s Daughter).

Now we do have some more idea’s in the pipeline and are starting to work on them now, you’ll hear more about it soon.  But in the mean time, if you can spare a dollar or two, just hit the donation button :) It will be greatly appreciated.

    Here’s Lara’s Story:

Lara May Dunn, my fourth child, was born on the 5th of November 2008.  The first sign that something was not right were Lara’s feet which were twisted and turned.  At 6 weeks she was back in hospital for failing to thrive.  A gamut of testing was started to try to find out what was going on…blood tests, x-rays and even an MRI.  Her head hadn’t grown – Microcephaly was diagnosed.  Nothing could be detected.  There were no answers to be found in the genetic testing.

At 5 months Lara was back in hospital.  This time the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane for laser surgery on her floppy voice box.  Another gamut of tests and a diagnosis of severe reflux and Cerebral Palsy.  This time they put a nasal gastric tube in and all her feeds were directed through there.  By October of 2009 the NG tube had been replaced with a “button”, which is a direct line into her tummy for feeds.  She will never eat a meal with our family conventionally or “normally”.

Over the last {almost} two years, Lara has been in and out of hospital with many different complex medical issues.  She is so fragile and yet has a core of steel and is such a fighter!!  She has grown so much!

With her growth has come a need for more specialised equipment.  One of which is a Leckey Hi Low chair.  A specialised seating system that can be adjusted to fit Lara perfectly.  It’s on a wheel base which means she can be more a part of our family.  She is able to be moved to where we are.  She is not limited to where we can take her in and around our house.  She can be exactly where the action is at any given time!

We are trying to fundraise the money to purchase one of these wonderful chairs – how much money??  They are upwards of $6000.  We are trying to get funding for some of it but I am working with other stampers and dear friends to find ways to get the rest.

I don’t want to limit where Lara is able to go in our house. She will never walk or run or play with her siblings in any conventional way and yet she can still be present as they do those things.  Your help in our efforts is very much appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Madonna Dunn

These are getting a little scarey

I’ve been in a little stamping lull.  I decided to take a term off Linc n Learn (finishing some knitting projects instead), hence my stamping has slowed a little.  This sketch was a challenge for me to say the least!

I think Bee Keeping is going to become as addictive as Stamping!!

Here a few shots for anyone interested, I know we shouldn’t have snooped until the weekend but it’s sooooo tempting to find out what is going on in there!!

At the top of the frame you can see white – that’s capped Honey!!  The yellow is pollen and the black is the frame which doesn’t have any comb built on it yet.  We can’t harvest any honey yet, as the bees need it to eat during the winter.

Here where Craig is pointing you can see a brand new bee emerging from it’s cell.  The browny coloured cells are capped brood, bees will hatch from these.  The white you can see on the left hand side are larve, and we’re hoping that there are more eggs and larve in the other cells.

So there you have it :)

Did you miss me last week – I was down with a head cold AGAIN!!  I wish winter would finish already!

And once again, I goofed up on the sketch.  I looked at it and thought, yep pocket card, no worries.  Didn’t draw it like I normally do.  So my creation is a little different.  Oopsie!!

I can’t even remember the name of this Designer Paper that retired!!

Anyway, onto to Barbara’s Blog or you can head back to the Utah Diva’s International Blog.

This week, we’ve also been distracted by these little guys (oops, I should say ladies, there are no big fat lazy drones here!)

They are such time wasters, check out how much pollen is loaded up on their back legs.  It’ soooooo tempting to peek in their hive to see what they are doing, but so far in a week, we’ve only checked once.  We might peek this weekend tho!

    Cheerie!!
