Stampin’ Up! Basket of Wishes

Welcome to the Colour Your World Blog Hop for November!
Each month comes around, and I think to myself, I’m going to be early for this blog hop. But each month, I’m creating on the day the blog hop goes live! Can you relate to that? I’m such a last minute person when it comes to creating, but I seem to make cards I really like when I’m under the pump.
And it’s this reason entirely, that I think my style of card making has become simplified. I need to create cards that are not time consuming but still have that little wow to them.
When a colour combo like the one above comes along, I do have to do some pondering as to what I’m going to come up with. I generally have the stamp set picked out about a week in advance, but the rest of the card comes together on the day. I’m also finding I’ll use the same layout for a few different cards before I move on, this is one of those layouts!

For this card, I’ve stamped the punnet and the strawberries from Stampin’ Up! Basket of Wishes onto Water Colour Paper with Black Stazon. This set is photopolymer which makes the lining up of the strawberries onto the punnet so easy, they just sit perfectly on top.
The punnet is coloured with So Saffron, then Delightful Dijon and finally Pumpkin Pie to add some depth in the shadows. The strawberries are Real Red with Garden Green leaves. All the colours in the challenge are met – YES! Plus I added some Smoky Slate for a bit of grounding under the punnet.
I’ve cut the punnet of strawberries with our brand new Stitched Shapes Framelits. It’s amazing how the faux stitching can add so much more to your card. I think you’d really notice the difference if you had 2 cards side by side, one with and one without.
Next is a thin strip of Garden Green paper from our Paper Stacks down the side of a Garden Green card base. I’ve poked a small hole in the spine of the card right next to the pattern paper and threaded the Gold Bakers Twine through it. My bow tying is getting better, so I’ve gone with a bow, but if you struggle, then a knot would still look great.
Mount your punnet with Dimensionals, and complete your card with a sentiment. I’ve used one of the sentiments from the stamp set, but you could easily turn this into a Birthday Card.
Let’s move on with our Blog Hop and check out the amazing cards the rest of the team have created.
