Flip Tag Card

by Alisa Tilsner, in category Cards

I’ve been feeling a bit despondant for the last week or so about the standard of my cards.  I think I’ve been looking at too many other blogs where the cards are AMAZING!  So I’ve felt the need to get back to what I love doing and that is colouring in.  🙂  I would so love to be able to share what’ve I’ve come up with so far for the stampers challenge, but you’ll have to wait for the mag to come out.

Today I thought I’d try a construction card.  My group at Linc ‘n’ Learn is about to finish for the term, and a few of them are moving on to another craft.  I’ve had so much fun with them these past 10 weeks, so for a treat we are going to do a flip tag card instead of your run of the mill card 🙂

The first picture shows the card closed, and the second is open.  Thanks to the Technique Junkies for the instructions.

Monochromatic Petal Prints

by Alisa Tilsner, in category Cards

Yay!  I’m organised early this week for Linc’n’Learn.  Normally on a Tuesday nite while the kids are in the bath, I’m madly trying to make some cards for my group.  It does feel good to have them made already.  Now I just need to get myself organised for Wednesday nites Demo that I’m doing.

I now have a colour wheel, valuable tool I must say.  On one side it shows you colours that work well in a monochromatic scheme, so I thought I’d try it out.  I must say, I’m happy with the way they turned out.

I’ve used Petal Prints in all of the cards.

In this card I’ve used Perfect Plum and Pale Plum. For the main Flower Image, I’ve stamped the bold onto scrap twice and then onto my cardstock to give the softer look.  The open stamp I’ve stamped straight over the top without stamping off.  I’ve also sponged the all the cardstock.  The background stamp is French Script.  I’ve seen a few cards lately that have used the paper peircing template to make a nice pattern in the corners, so I thought I’d try that too.  I like the look it gives to a card.

The card above uses Cameo Coral and Ruby Red.  I wasnt sure about these colours together, but they’ve grown on me.  Again, a bit of sponging and paper peircing.

I really like the way this one turned out.  Sponging yet again, and I’ve just added some ribbon to finish it off.  The colours are Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke.

Rock n Roll

by Alisa Tilsner, in category Cards

I thought I’d try something different for this week.  It’s the Rock n Roll technique, stamp in a one colour and then ‘roll’ the edges of the stamp in another colour.  Bold stamps work best, and it can give a really good effect.

Cards are made using Ballet Blue, Bravo Burgundy and Old Olive Cardstock.  Ballet Blue, Bashful Blue, Bravo Burgundy and Old Olive Inkpads.  Stamp Sets are Looks like Spring (sneak preview from the Mini Catalogue, being launched in October) and All Year Cheer II.  I’ve sponged the edges in Card 2, and in Card 3 I’ve used the paper piercing tool for a bit of faux stitching.

Linc’n’Learn this Week

by Alisa Tilsner, in category Cards

The following cards were my offerings for Linc’n’Learn this week.  Just something a little fun and a bit corny.

The Stamp Sets used for the main images are from the Hostess Level 3 set Furnished with Love.

The first card uses Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Cameo Coral Cardstock and Inkpads.  I’ve sponged Cameo Coral around the light shade.  Print Pattern Background stamp was also used with this one.  I’ve been dying to use these colours together for something.

The Second Card uses Close to Cocoa and Taken with Teal.  Little Pieces Stamp Set is used for the background.

and finally, this card uses Pink Passion, Pixie Pink and Green Gable.  Again Little Pieces Stamp Set is used for the background.

Another 6×6 Layout

by Alisa Tilsner, in category Scrapbooking

I’ve managed to do another Layout this week.  I’m a bit pooped, as I cut the green cardstock too short for my liking, and hadn’t taken anymore with me, and being me, I just wanted to get another layout finished.

I’ve used Rose Red, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip Cardstock, with their matching inkpads.  The edges are done by swiping the chocolate chip inkpad on the card.  I’ve used the leaf stamp from Natural Beauty on the Rose Red card, the alphabet stamps are Classic Alphabet.

6 YO Birthday Card

by Alisa Tilsner, in category Cards

DS 5 is going to a birthday party today, woohoo!!  It’s his first party, with a friend that HE made, and it’s a girl.  And what’s more, he is going to marry her!

So I was thinking that I’d best make a card for her, but realised that I have no stamps that are children based.  Thankfully my neighbour bought a stamp set when I had a Stampin’ Up! catalogue party from the US about a year ago.[photopress:IMG_2579_1.JPG,full,pp_empty]

Images Copyright 1990-2006 Stampin’ Up!

I’ve used Orchid Opulence, Green Galore and Whisper White Cardstock, the matching inkpads.  The stamp sets are Kids at Play (US Retired), Little Pieces, Canvas and All Year Cheer II.  I’ve coloured the image with Prismacolour and Mineral Spirits.  I decided not to go for embellishments as she is only 6.

Linc’n’Learn Today

by Alisa Tilsner, in category Cards

The ladies had a great time today (well I hope they did!), so while they made their cards, I made another scrapbook layout.  The size is 6×6, using all the same products at the cards below.  I’ve used white ribbon but have run it over my inkpad to colour it, a bit messy, but it works well if you dont have the right colour.  I’ve also used a few bronze brads.

I feel a mag submission coming on, so if the photo disappears, you know its’ been accepted.  🙂
