Hey Everyone!! Welcome to 2020 and the Stamping Society January Video Class and Blog Hop! This month we are featuring the brand new Peaceful Poppies Suite that will be available on the 3rd January.
Sometimes when I get a nice big box of new products I can feel a little overwhelmed and not really sure where to start with my creating. When this happens, I turn to the Catalogue and will often CASE something, just to get me going.
This is the case with the card I’ve created for our Blog Hop. Only, I’ve taken a tag from the catalogue and turned it into the focal point for my card.
The tag can be found on Pg 24 of the catalogue. The label shape is taken from a piece of the DSP and cut out with one of the coordinating dies. For the Poppy, I just applied some Rich Razzleberry and Calypso Coral ink to Shimmery White Card with an Aquapainter. Let it dry and cut it out with the die. Super easy.
The painted Old Olive leaf straight behind the poppy is from the Peaceful Poppies Elements. It’s already white embossed onto Watercolour paper, you just need to add ink and pop it out, it’s laser cut too!
Once the tag was made, I just placed it on a Whisper White Card base. The Happy Birthday sentiment I used here is from the Label Me Bold stamp set. I stamped in Pool Party to coordinate with the piece behind the tag. A few clear sequins finishes my card.

Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop for December!! This month the theme is a Sale a Bration or Mini Catalogue Sneak Peek!
I really really enjoyed creating this card! This set is called Happy Birthday To You and is a Level 1 Sale a Bration set. Meaning you can get it FREE with a qualifying order of $90. Both the Sale a Bration and Mini Catalogue starts on the 3rd January.
Now, I’ve also used another set from Mini Catalogue called Label Me Bold. I have a feeling I’m going to get soooo much use from this set. Especially that Happy Birthday Stamp!
I started by stamping on Fluid Watercolour Paper with Versamark and then used White Embossing Powder to emboss it. The colours I’ve used are Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Smoky Slate.
The Seaside Spray layer has been embossed with the Subtles Embossing Folder. A small strip of Rococo Rose card behind the Watercolour Paper is pretty much all the extra layering I did. I’ve kept the embellishments simple with a few of the clear sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins pack. When you spend time colouring a focal image, it sometimes pays to keep the rest of the card fairly clean.
EDITED: I’ve had a huge response to this card, thank you all so much. Many of you wanted to a tutorial on how I coloured the cake. So I have since made a video for you all. You can find it HERE
So now it’s time to check out the rest of the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop for December – Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!! – Alisa
Did you see that the Clearance Rack was updated a few days ago? Click the graphic below to see what’s there.
Also, a couple of reminders, just because it’s the busy time of the year:
Catalogue Close Out is still happening. Stocks are selling out, the best way to check what’s available is to head to the Online Store. Click the graphic to get there.
And my last reminder is my Sale a Bration Host Club. I’ll be closing registration on the 31st December for a January Start. You will need to get your name down on the list if you wish to take part. Especially if you’re after that cute Little LadyBug set.
I’m going to have to call them all Little Lily Ladybug! After announcing my SAB Host Club yesterday, I felt like playing with the set. And especially because I wanted to show you how cute the cards can be.
Isn’t she just the cutest?
I wanted to make this card Live today on Facebook, but Facebook had other ideas. So I headed on over to YouTube Live and also had a dreadful time. Apart from being skitchy I also had a phone call, which kicked me off the live and wouldn’t let me back on. But here it is anyway…. sorry!
So, after I was rudely cut off… After the ink blending, I flicked water over the card with my AquaPainter. A strip of DSP from the Best Dressed (I think that’s what it’s called) adhere to the side of the card base. Then the images are raised with Dimensionals. I’ve used a few of the new little Gemstones which are coming.
