Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop for December!! This month the theme is Hearts of Friendship. I’ve created a cute little Birthday Card using the new Sending Flowers die that’s coming out.
I have to say, this was a really hard theme for me! I don’t really do lovey dovey hearts and soppy sentiments! I also make more Birthday Cards than anything else, so this is as close as I could get to Hearts of Friendship!
This is such a cute little die set that will be available on the 3rd February, but keep an eye out mid month as I’ll be designing a Class to Go using this Die.
So it’s not quiet Happy Birthday, and it’s not over the top soppy, but I think I can still send it as a birthday card!
My card is a 10.5cm x 10.5cm finished card. On the base layer, I’ve used my trusty makeup brush to blend the colours as shown above in the colour combo photo. I’m pretty sure they are also in order from bottom to top. I flicked some water over the ink blended background and let dry. I then adhered the die over the top with dimensionals, added the sentiment and some rhinestones. The little sentiment label is also included in the Die set, along with individual flowers that you could adhere to give different coloured flowers.
I’m really happy with how it turned out, such a cute little Sending Flowers Birthday Card.
EDiTED: In the time since I wrote up this blog post and scheduled it, I whipped up a video for you!! YIPPEE!
So now it’s time to check out the rest of the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop for January.
Yep, you read that right! Forever Blossoms Tattoo Style! Also very much Martin Stone style! I was scrolling through Pinterest the other night when a journalling graphic popped up. I clicked on it which led to so many other images, some of which were Geometric Tattoos. You HAVE to search them! I did pin a few in my Lettering and Doodling Board.
Most of the images for the tattoos had roses, but I switched that out for the Forever Blossoms image!.
My card is tall and skinny – 14.9cm x 8cm so I think it balanced nicely. Working in pencil, I started with the Diamond behind. Found the centers of the long side and short side and went from there. Then i pulled out some of my circle dies and traced around them. I followed one of the images I’d pinned for some guidance. Then I went over them in a 0.5 black pen, when try, erased the pencil lines.
Happy Birthday is from the Label Me Bold Stamp Set, and that’s pretty much it! While I was taking photos, I did think about some sequins!
The black matt sequins from the Peaceful Poppies suite are perfect!
I’m going to try some more variations and perhaps add a little colour to parts of the image. But for my first go, I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out.
Hey hey Everyone!! Are you all set for your Australian Day Long Weekend? I’m not sure I’ll get much crafting done as we’ll probably end up in our yard building a garden edge for our Bamboo plants, so I’m getting in today! Today I’m sharing a Timeless Tropical Card.
For this card, I’ve stamped in our brand new Saddle Brown Stazon instead of Black. It certainly changes the look of your colouring!
I’ve also used the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder and the Champagne Rhinestones. The die I’ve used for the sentiment comes from the Detailed Bands die. I often overlook label dies in other sets.
The colours I’ve used are Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Pineapple Punch and Soft Suede. I’ve used Fluid Watercolour Paper for the Hibiscus Flower and Leaves.
I hope to see you again over the weekend, but if I don’t – Have a great Long Weekend.
