Hey folks! I made you all a Warm & Toasty Colouring Tutorial 🙂
I switched the bow out to Old Olive and also created an Old Olive version of the card I made yesterday.
And here’s the Old Olive Version:
I picked out the Old Olive Pattern from the Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper. I love anything spots and stripes.
This card is pretty much identical to the card I made yesterday but I did leave out the stitched circle from behind the little deer. Mainly because I was being lazy and could be bothered die cutting! I think it still looks good.
Which one do you like best? Poppy Parade or Old Olive?
I’ve made my first Christmas card for the year! I’m sharing a little sneak peek at Warm & Toasty stamp set. This stamp set is soooo cute!! Great for colouring! If you’d like a video on the colouring with Stampin’ Blends, please let me know. I’ve gone simple with the colouring 🙂
The paper is the B side of a pack called Trimming the Town. Trimming the Town DSP is part of a Suite with the same name that has houses etc to make street scapes. I love the pattern B side though as it goes with anything, including my little deer.
The Colours of the Stampin’ Blends are:
Cinnamon Cider Combo and Ivory for the Deer Body
Calypso Coral Light for the ears and cheeks
Poppy Parade Combo for the bow
Smoky Slate Combo and Basic Black Light for the hooves
Mango Melody Combo for the antlers
The DSP is Poppy Parade and Misty Moonlight
Now, don’t forget that this month we have our Bonus Days. Every $90 spent will get you a coupon code that you spend in August for $9. So it’s like getting 10% extra to spend. Guess what August is? New Holiday Catalogue month!! This Warm & Toasty set is $38, but you could get it for $29.
I have another card in mind using a skating polar bear from this set, so I’m off to play again!
Hey Friends!! I’m creating a Pinterest Inspired Card today in the form of a Forever Fern Hello Card.
Here’s my inspiration:
I didn’t look at it while I was creating, it was just in my mind as a base. I had thought of using all greens and trying the masking technique for the leaf images. Instead I just stamped and die cut them, and used a variety of colours.
So I’ve pretty much just used the layout in the end. I’ve never been any good at layering and bunching elements together, but I think it turned out pretty nice in the end.
The leaf die in the background looks like it could be a yellow colour, but it’s actually Gold Foil which I think sets it off nicely. The other colours are Magenta Madness, Just Jade and Pretty Peacock.
That’s it for me, enjoy your day, and Happy Stamping! Will you be stamping with Forever Fern too?
Hey Hey! I have a bright and happy Hippo Happiness Card for you today! Lots of Ink Blending in the background.
A very tall and skinny card today too. The finished size is 7cm x 21cm. For this card I started out with a piece of scrap paper, draw a hill shape on it and cut out it out. You’ll need to place the reverse piece (not the piece you cut out) on the card and sponge with Granny Apple Green. Move your piece of paper, and sponge again. And once more, move your paper, and sponge.
For the pink area, I sponged (from the hill side) Powder Pink, Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo then Melon Mambo right at the top, blending them as I went. I then flicked some water over the pink area.
And how cute is that little Hippo? She’s stamped in Blushing Bride first, then two step stamped with Melon Mambo. Her face is stamped with Basic Gray. The balloons are Bermuda Bay and Mango Melody.
Now I know that I’ve used quite a few colours in the card, but here’s your Colour Combo graphic for Pinterest with the main colours that stand out.
If you haven’t seen my video on how to Ink Blend with Stampin’ Up! Inks, here it is 🙂
If you have any questions about the card, feel free to send me a message! Hope you like my Hippo Happiness Card.

Hey everyone! You may recall a video I created a couple of months ago showing how to create a Watercolour Wash Background for your Card Making. I FINALLY created another card with the piece I made.
It’s very simple tho!
Here’s the video in case you missed it:
To finish my card off, I simply stamped one of the images from Forever Fern Stamp Set twice onto my watercolour wash background with Memento Ink, you could use Stazon too.
I was going to add ‘MORE’ to my card but felt that this one could actually be okay with simple. I used the sentiment from Fancy Phrases to White Emboss on Black card. Then finished off with a few sequins from the Woven Threads pack (retired I think)
If you’d like to get started in your watercolour wash backgrounds, reinkers are perfect for this. Just add a drop into your lid instead of squeezing it. The new wide flat brush in the Water Painter trio would be perfect for this technique too.
And if you purchase a Collection of Refills, the Water Painters and a pack of Shimmery Card, you’ll earn yourself a $9 coupon code to use in August.
And lastly, here’s the colour combo graphic for your Pinterest Colour Inspiration Board!
I got some happy mail today from Stampin’ Up! Staff Member Clare Langsford. You see today we should have been in Maui starting our Incentive Trip…. no need to explain! Clare has sent me a Hello Sunshine card from the Simply Citrus Card Making Kit.
Clare sent me this lovely card with a really thoughtful message which meant the world to me.
This card has a really different colour combo, but it works!
Clare has stamped the lemons (which is what life has given us at the moment) in Gorgeous Grape Ink onto a piece of the Artistry Blooms Pattern Paper. A strip of Mango Melody to tie in with the paper, and the sentiment also in Gorgeous Grape Ink. All on a base of Coastal Cabana.
And here’s the what the entire Simply Citrus Card Making Kit looks like.
So you can see by Clare’s card, that you can use the stamp set for more than just the kit. The Card Making kit will get you started, especially if you’re a new card maker, or even if you’re off in your caravan seeing your state.
Hey everyone!! Do you know – I LOVED the cards so much the other day (the ones for my Fancy Phrases Class) that I had to make another Fancy Phrases Card with the same type of feels…but different colours.
I don’t mind the way it turned out, but I still love the other cards more!
Just a really simple layout. I started with a full card front size of Shimmer Paper, but ended up trimming it down just slightly. More on the right hand side, and popped a thin strip of matching colour under it.
When I first saw this set in the catalogue, it was okay. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it, or I wouldn’t have purchased it. After colouring it tho! I love it. It might seem heavy at first, but this type of sketchy image is really easy to colour. You have to be neat at all. In fact you can probably see where I’ve gone out the lines. Who cares right!?
I’ve used Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, Just Jade, and Sahara Sand, with just a little Mango Melody for the flower centres.
Here’s what the Fancy Phrases stamp set looks like:

My Goodness!! Paula and I have designed a super fun class for you this month. The Way to Goat stamp set was the first we both said we were getting, so that settled the issue of what set we were going to use.
Paula has used Water Colouring in her cards, and I’ve used Blends.

Hi Everyone! As most of you would know, each month I have a Host Code for you to you use when you place your orders online. Using the code allows me to gift you with a Thank You item in the following month.
When I send out your gifts, rather than make you a card that I write in, I stamp up a little panel or tag. My thinking is that you can then use the panel to create a card from it.
Here’s an example from Lois (she’s joined my team now and scooped her free bundle!). I had ink blended on a piece of DSP and had a Thank You Sentiment on it. Lois removed that and added her own. A created a card from it.
This month (and I’m sorry to my customers – spoiler alert!), I’ve used the Forever Fern Stamp Set and some of the new InColors.
The colours I’ve used are Just Jade, Pretty Peacock and Magenta Madness.
So – If you are receiving your gift this month, I’d love for you to use your stamped panel to create a full card! Come share them in our Facebook Group
And… here’s the current code with the gift you’ll receive next month.
