Hey hey! Welcome to this month’s One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop. This month the theme is Shabby Chic… um, I’m not sure that I pulled it off all that well.
Anywaaaaay…. Here’s my card.
I did research Shabby Chic colours and they were lots of Pinks, Blues and Neutrals. Whitewash was a big thing, distress, texture etc all big too. I guess I ticked those boxes.
My base card is Marina Mist. I’ve dragged my white inkpad over the card base, and the top piece. The top piece has also been stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp.
The neutral layer is Tip Top Taupe, white ink dragged across it again, and the crumpled up for loads of texture.
The stem of the flower is Mint Macaron. For the flower head, I cut two shapes from Blushing bride. I used the sponge brayer on one piece with Blushing Bride ink, then glued the two pieces together, setting them slightly off. I then crumpled up the flower before adhering it with dimensionals.
If you’re thinking that you haven’t seen this flower before, you’d be right! It’s a special limited edition bundle that will be available in August. The set is called Thoughtful Branches – it’s amazing. I’ve shown a video of it on my facebook page if you’d like to check it out more.
Next is my 3D piece, which was really hard to photograph, so sorry about that! I’ve used all the same materials and techniques to create the massive tag attached to the box.
Okay, well I hope you’ve like my take on Shabby Chic, I think it might be a little more rustic than shabby, maybe I’ll have to try again another time.
Let’s hop on over to our next talented stamper – Pam Staples
