Stampin’ Up! Color & Contour Birthday Card

Do you ever get stuck for colour combinations when the new InColors come out? Each year Stampin’ Up! provide us with a little colour chart to get our creative juices flowing.

Click on the graphic above to download the full Colour Charts. I chose to use Evening Evergreen, Cajun Craze and Petal Pink for the following card.

I kept the layout of my card super simple. My flower is stamped in Evening Evergreen on Basic White Card. I then stamped the solid flower fill with Petal Pink Ink, and very carefully added a little Cajun Craze Ink to the flowers with my Water Painter. You really need to take care not to get the outline wet as it’s a waterbased ink. You can see in my close up that the dark green bled a little.

I’m still stocking up on my Birthday Cards, as I know I’ll switch to Christmas soon. For this card I’ve used the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the Artistically Inked Set. A little scrap of Cajun Craze card behind the sentiment helps tie in all the colours in the combination and balance the card. A few little Petal Pink Elegant Faceted Gems finishes off the card.
