The Artful Stampers Blog Hop Challenge 8
Who made me in charge of The Artful Stampers Blog Hop Challenge? It looked good in the sketch, but boy oh boy, it was a challenge! I ended up going for something very simple, (my first attempt ended in the scrap pile). Time to pull out the Santa & Co Designer Series Paper.
I first tried this with the All is Calm Designer Series Paper, but I don’t think the colours in it had enough oomph to it. So after I scrapped that idea, and spent some time down the beach with the family, this is what I came home to create.
Barely any stamping on this one. I think the Less is More theory worked well for this sketch. Going clock wise from the Santa’s the sizes are 50 x 90mm, 40 x 45mm, 40 x 45mm, 65 x 40mm and 25 x 40mm. I have also used the Paper Piercing Tool and Essentials Template to prick holes around the outer edge of the Designer Series Paper.
The sentiment has been stamped from the Ornamental Pine stamp set in Real Red. I cut V’s into the ends of the card to create a banner using the Hexagon Punch.
You can’t see in the photo, but I’ve added some Wink of Stella to parts of the patterns to create a nice glittery shimmer that you can see when you turn the card.
This one would be quite an easy card to replicate for mass production.
And of course here’s the mild looking graphic that I thought wouldn’t cause me so much drama!

love this bright and cheery Christmas card – works so well with this dsp!
I wasn’t a big fan of this particular DSP, but you have given me food for thought with your take on this sketch. I love it.
Lovely – sometimes less is more and using the DSP is just gorgeous
What a brilliant idea. This would work well with a variety of DSP. May have to CASE this idea. ;O)
Brilliant card! The DSP works together so well. I had trouble with this sketch too! LOL
