Christmas Card Making with the Traditions of Christmas Suite
The Christmas season is fast approaching, and I’ve officially kicked off my holiday cardmaking! In this week’s Thursday Live, I shared a festive project featuring the Stampin Up Traditions of Christmas Suite, a beautiful collection perfect for creating elegant Christmas cards in bulk without losing that wow factor.
Whether you’re making a handful of cards for close family or a big stack to send across Australia, this suite brings together timeless festive elements, rich papers, and versatile dies to make the process simple and enjoyable.

Inside the Stampin Up Traditions of Christmas Suite
The suite includes:
- Christmas Greenery Stamps & Dies – Layered poinsettias, sprigs, holly and sentiments that work beautifully together. The photopolymer stamps are two-step, giving dimension and depth without complicated colouring.
- Traditional Labels Stamp Set Dies – A range of classic greetings paired with beautifully detailed label dies. Some dies not only cut but also emboss, adding extra texture and finish.
- Designer Series Paper – Double-sided 12×12 papers with striking gold foiled imagery on one side and versatile patterns on the other. The patterned “B sides” are ideal for masculine or year-round cards, while the gold foiled “A sides” bring instant Christmas luxury.
- Coordinating Embellishments – Sparkling self-adhesive sequins and a shiny Real Red ribbon that ties beautifully and holds its shape.
For my card, I combined patterned paper, die-cut poinsettias, and a bold heat-embossed sentiment to create a festive look with very little stamping involved—perfect for quick Christmas crafting.
Techniques I Shared in the Live
- Two-Step Stamping & Die-Cutting
The poinsettia image layers with additional floral and foliage stamps, but if you’re short on time, you can simply die cut directly from the patterned paper. This makes mass-producing cards fast and stress-free. - Using Paper Clips & Embellishment Dies
I added a metallic die-cut paper clip from the Just a Note Dies for a touch of whimsy and texture. These little extras elevate a simple card without adding bulk. - Heat Embossed Sentiments
I chose a Real Red panel and embossed my sentiment in white. The crisp lettering stands out beautifully against the rich red, giving a traditional but fresh look. - Rub-On Transfers
Gold splatter rub-ons added an extra sparkle to the background. They are easy to apply, instantly transforming plain cardstock into something special. - Quick Finishing Touches
A pre-cut insert was added inside the card, making it ready to write in later. It’s a small step that saves frustration when you’re rushing to get Christmas cards signed and posted.
