My downline Madonna Dunn and a team of other demonstrators are raising funds to provide a special Chair for Miss Lara May (Madonna’s Daughter).<\/p>\n
Now we do have some more idea’s in the pipeline and are starting to work on them now, you’ll hear more about it soon. \u00c2\u00a0But in the mean time, if you can spare a dollar or two, just hit the donation button \ud83d\ude42 It will be greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n
Here’s Lara’s Story:<\/em><\/p>\n Lara May Dunn, my fourth child, was born on the 5<\/em>th<\/em><\/sup> of November 2008.\u00c2\u00a0 The first sign that something was not right were Lara\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s feet which were twisted and turned.\u00c2\u00a0 At 6 weeks she was back in hospital for failing to thrive.\u00c2\u00a0 A gamut of testing was started to try to find out what was going on\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6blood tests, x-rays and even an MRI.\u00c2\u00a0 Her head hadn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t grown \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Microcephaly was diagnosed.\u00c2\u00a0 Nothing could be detected.\u00c2\u00a0 There were no answers to be found in the genetic testing.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/em><\/p>\n At 5 months Lara was back in hospital.\u00c2\u00a0 This time the Royal Children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Hospital in\u00c2\u00a0Brisbane\u00c2\u00a0for laser surgery on her floppy voice box.\u00c2\u00a0 Another gamut of tests and a diagnosis of severe reflux and Cerebral Palsy.\u00c2\u00a0 This time they put a nasal gastric tube in and all her feeds were directed through there.\u00c2\u00a0 By October of 2009 the NG tube had been replaced with a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153button\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, which is a direct line into her tummy for feeds.\u00c2\u00a0 She will never eat a meal with our family conventionally or \u00e2\u20ac\u0153normally\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/em><\/p>\n Over the last {almost} two years, Lara has been in and out of hospital with many different complex medical issues.\u00c2\u00a0 She is so fragile and yet has a core of steel and is such a fighter!!\u00c2\u00a0 She has grown so much!<\/em><\/p>\n <\/em><\/p>\n With her growth has come a need for more specialised equipment.\u00c2\u00a0 One of which is a Leckey Hi Low chair.\u00c2\u00a0 A specialised seating system that can be adjusted to fit Lara perfectly.\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s on a wheel base which means she can be more a part of our family.\u00c2\u00a0 She is able to be moved to where we are.\u00c2\u00a0 She is not limited to where we can take her in and around our house.\u00c2\u00a0 She can be exactly where the action is at any given time!<\/em><\/p>\n <\/em><\/p>\n We are trying to fundraise the money to purchase one of these wonderful chairs \u00e2\u20ac\u201c how much money??\u00c2\u00a0 They are upwards of $6000.\u00c2\u00a0 We are trying to get funding for some of it but I am working with other stampers and dear friends to find ways to get the rest.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/em><\/p>\n I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want to limit where Lara is able to go in our house.
