Stampin\u2019 Up! has more exciting products coming on 4th March, and I couldn\u2019t wait to dive into one of my favourites \u2013 the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stampinup.com.au\/products\/thankful-garden-bundle-english?demoid=4000014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stampin Up Thankful Garden Bundle<\/a><\/strong>. This bundle includes beautiful layering stencils, coordinating dies, and a versatile stamp set perfect for floral lovers. Today, I\u2019m sharing a <strong>vintage botanical-inspired card<\/strong>, complete with distressing techniques and layered stenciling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Choosing the Perfect Colours<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this project, I wanted a <strong>soft, vintage feel<\/strong>, so I turned to my <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/subscribe\">Colour Companion AI Tool<\/a><\/strong> for guidance. Instead of going for traditional pink hydrangeas, I opted for a <strong>blue-based<\/strong> flower. My AI assistant suggested:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Balmy Blue<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fresh Freesia<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Misty Moonlight<\/strong> (for a cooler effect)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Soft Sea Foam &amp; Lost Lagoon<\/strong> for the leaves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This combination gave me the <strong>delicate, antique botanical illustration vibe<\/strong> I was after!<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.kb-image16835_278ade-c6 .kb-image-has-overlay:after{opacity:0.3;}<\/style>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-kadence-image kb-image16835_278ade-c6 size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Thankful-Garden-Vintage.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"kb-img wp-image-16837\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Thankful-Garden-Vintage.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Thankful-Garden-Vintage-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Thankful-Garden-Vintage-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Thankful-Garden-Vintage-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Thankful-Garden-Vintage-560x560.jpg 560w, https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Thankful-Garden-Vintage-400x400.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Thankful-Garden-Vintage-600x600.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Thankful-Garden-Vintage-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating the Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To create a <strong>distressed vintage look<\/strong>, I:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Used the <strong>Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder<\/strong> to add texture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lightly <strong>sanded<\/strong> the embossed panel to reveal the white core of the <strong>Vanilla<\/strong> <strong>Two-Tone Cardstock<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ink-blended <strong>Crumb Cake<\/strong> around the edges to age the paper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added <strong>watered-down Crumb Cake splatters<\/strong> for an aged effect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tore and curled a corner to enhance the vintage charm.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stencilling the Hydrangeas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Stampin Up Thankful Garden Bundle <\/strong>contains<strong> layering stencils<\/strong> make colouring effortless. To achieve a realistic <strong>gradient effect<\/strong>, I:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applied <strong>Balmy Blue<\/strong> as the base.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Layered <strong>Fresh Freesia<\/strong> lightly for variation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Used <strong>Misty Moonlight<\/strong> for added depth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blended <strong>Soft Sea Foam &amp; Lost Lagoon<\/strong> on the leaves for contrast.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This technique adds <strong>dimension and realism<\/strong>, making the flowers pop beautifully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NEW Stampin&#039; Up! Thankful Garden Bundle - Vintage Botanical Vibe\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NFitYdNgs8s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assembling the Card<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once my Hydrangea and Background were ready, I:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Matted the distressed <strong>Two-Tone Cardstock<\/strong> onto a <strong>Very Vanilla card base<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wrapped <strong>Crumb Cake twine<\/strong> around the panel for extra texture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added the <strong>&#8220;Thankful for You, Friend&#8221; sentiment<\/strong> in <strong>Misty Moonlight<\/strong> and fussy-cut it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Used <strong>Dimensionals<\/strong> to lift the florals and sentiment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Embellished with <strong>Iridescent Pearls<\/strong> for a soft, elegant finish.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Final Look<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After all the layers and techniques, I was thrilled with the final <strong>vintage botanical feel<\/strong>.
