I started by black heat-embossing the large pear image from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stampinup.com.au\/products\/perfectly-pears-bundle-english?demoid=4000014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stampin Up Perfectly Pears <\/a>stamp set onto Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. Normally I do ink blending on Basic White, but I decided to see how it would behave on watercolour paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I began with <strong>Petal Pink<\/strong> ink blending \u2013 starting from the bottom of the panel and working in layers to create a soft ombre effect. Using circular motions allowed the ink to feather up the paper and build depth at the base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Stampin Up | Painterly Pears Suite | Ink Blending &amp; Faux Watercolouring\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-mxMRC-yIEQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Double Stamping &amp; Watercolour<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because StazOn ink isn\u2019t great for photopolymer stamps (and hard to clean), embossing the image gave me both a crisp outline and a waterproof base. Once the ink blending was down, I used the two-step stamps to add colour with <strong>Darling Duckling<\/strong> and <strong>Mossy Meadow<\/strong>. These inks laid down beautiful colour, but I didn\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enter the water painters!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using a damp brush, I blended the stamped areas into the ink-blended background, letting colours pool and mix in an intentionally messy way. The stamp\u2019s built-in texture created light and shadow automatically, helping the pear come to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a subtle lift, I added <strong>Calypso Coral<\/strong> to the mid-section of the pear, softening the transition from yellow to pink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bringing It All Together<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once dry, I flicked on some <strong>white ink splatter<\/strong> for that trendy mixed-media look. The result? Soft, rustic, textured layers with a modern twist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The card base was chosen by popular vote during the live \u2013 <strong>Mossy Meadow<\/strong> \u2013 paired with a busy floral Designer Series Paper that surprisingly didn\u2019t overwhelm the design. I layered a stitched rectangle die cut from the <em>Textured Notes<\/em> dies, slightly skewed, to keep things casual and creative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>Mossy Meadow &amp; Gold ribbon<\/strong> knot added texture (frayed for effect!), and I finished with a simple stamped sentiment: <em>\u201cThank You, Friend\u201d<\/em>, trimmed on the diagonal. Sparkle Dots in coordinating shades added the final polish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Try This Technique!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you enjoy techniques that blend stamping, colouring, and mixed media, this one\u2019s worth a try.
