This week during my Thursday Live, I created two beautiful cards—both using the same quick and easy layout, but with very different looks. One features the brand-new Stampin Up A Child is Born stamp set from the upcoming catalogue, and the other makes use of the Sunflower Embossing Folder for a versatile, non-Christmas design.

If you’re looking for inspiration for mass-producing Christmas cards—or just want a simple layout you can adapt with different supplies—this design is perfect.

Card One: A Peaceful Christmas Scene

For the first card, I showcased the new Stampin Up A Child is Born stamp set, which will appear in the September catalogue. I paired it with Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper for a soft, neutral look.

Card Base: Basic Beige, cut slightly taller than my usual (5½” instead of 5″) to suit the elongated stamped image.

Stamping: I debated between Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie inks, but Crumb Cake gave the most subtle and elegant finish for the Holy Family and starry sky.

Layering: The paper strip was torn across the top and bottom to create texture before layering it over the stamped panel.

Finishing Touches: Metallic copper gems add just the right amount of shimmer.

This design comes together in minutes, making it ideal if you plan to create a batch of 20 or more Christmas cards. You can step it up by adding Wink of Stella shimmer, or keep it classic and understated.

Stampin Up A Child is Born set will be available on the 3rd September 2025.

Card Two: Sunflower Elegance

Since the first card came together so quickly, I made a second card in the same style but with a completely different look.

For this one, I used embossed sunflowers (created in a previous Live) with patterned paper strips top and bottom. A torn edge again adds texture and keeps the continuity between the two designs.

Colours: Mossy Meadow ink with embossed silver detailing.

Ribbon Detail: A simple silver ribbon knot anchors the sentiment without overpowering the sunflowers.

Sentiment: A clean “Happy Birthday” stamped on Basic White and popped up with Dimensionals.

What I love about this layout is how adaptable it is. Swap the sunflower paper for Christmas patterns, autumn colours, or spring florals, and you’ll have a design that works all year round.

Why This Layout Works

Sometimes the simplest layouts are the most effective. By using:

A tall central image or embossed feature

Patterned paper strips top and bottom with torn edges

A sentiment strip layered across

…you create a balanced, eye-catching design without overcomplicating things. It’s also easy to cut multiples of each piece in one go, which makes mass production a breeze.

Join the Creative Fun

If you’d like the full measurements and instructions for these cards, simply subscribe to my newsletter.
