Gallery Blooms Bundle | Colouring with Stampin&#039; Blends\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LkYYMc-kfLc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Colour Combo That Makes This Card Shine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This card really came to life through colour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I pulled tones directly from the designer series paper and paired them with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Peaceful Pine (new and already a favourite)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Calypso Coral<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Crisp Cantaloupe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Barely Blush (used sparingly)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Soft Sea Foam for highlights<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic Beige<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the biggest takeaways from this project was how similar some colours can be. Calypso Coral Light Blends and Crisp Cantaloupe Dark Blends are incredibly close\u2014so much so that you really only need one of them in your blend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And a quick heads-up: Barely Blush works beautifully in marker form\u2026 but as cardstock with these tones? Not so much. Then layer in your mid-tones, and finally bring in your lighter colours towards the tips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To soften everything, I added a touch of Barely Blush just on the edges of the petals. This slightly shifts the tone without overpowering the warmth of the corals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the leaves, I experimented with a light-over-dark technique using Soft Sea Foam\u2014and it acted almost like a colour lifter, softening the tips and creating a natural highlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s one of those happy accidents that turned into a technique I\u2019ll definitely use again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Building the Layers (Without Overthinking It)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the colouring was done, it was time to bring the card together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This design uses multiple layers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A patterned paper base<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Embossed background layer (Damask Designs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Die-cut floral focal point<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A simple circle element to anchor the design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I added a bit of ink blending around the edges to give it a soft, slightly vintage feel\u2014but kept the overall look clean rather than distressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of my favourite parts of this layout is how moving a single layer the strip of Peaceful Pine) can completely change the look of the card.
