{"id":4040,"date":"2014-10-17T18:39:00","date_gmt":"2014-10-17T08:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/?p=4040"},"modified":"2014-10-17T18:39:00","modified_gmt":"2014-10-17T08:39:00","slug":"how-to-colour-on-vellum-with-blendabilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/how-to-colour-on-vellum-with-blendabilities\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Colour on Vellum with Blendabilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This month for the <a href=\"http:\/\/aroundtheworldstampinchallenges.blogspot.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Around the World Challenges<\/a> we&#8217;ve been playing with products.\u00c2\u00a0 The first round was buttons, and this round is to use <em><strong>Vellum<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>For my card I&#8217;ve embossed an image, and coloured it with <em><strong>Blendabilities<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_8478.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4041\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_8478.jpg\" alt=\"Partridge &amp; Pears\" width=\"620\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_8478.jpg 620w, https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_8478-354x300.jpg 354w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are the steps I used to create the image:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stamp tree image from <em><strong>Partridge and Pears Stamp Set<\/strong><\/em> onto Vellum with <em><strong>Versamark Ink<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Emboss the image with <em><strong>White Embossing Powder<\/strong><\/em> and a <em><strong>Heat Tool<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Turn your image over and colour from behind with your Blendabilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You could colour the image from the front, but don&#8217;t forget that Blendabilities can also colour items such as buttons and pearls, so if you colour from the front, you&#8217;ll need to be very careful not to go over your white outline.\u00c2\u00a0 You won&#8217;t be able to buff the colour off like other inks.<\/p>\n<p>I also found that you need to colour over the area a few times depending on how dark you would like your image, and allow time for your inks to dry on the vellum.\u00c2\u00a0 The image looks quite blotchy from behind, but lovely from the front.<\/p>\n<p>Resting your vellum on a dark piece of card helps you to see your outline, but also have a piece of white card or paper so you can see what your image looks like from the front.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Colour-Vellum-with-Blendabilities-e1413534859113.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4042\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alisatilsner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Colour-Vellum-with-Blendabilities-e1413534859113.jpg\" alt=\"Colour Vellum with Blendabilities\" width=\"620\" height=\"317\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The colours of Blendabilites I used were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Old Olive<\/li>\n<li>Cherry Cobbler<\/li>\n<li>Daffodil Delight<\/li>\n<li>Night of Navy<\/li>\n<li>Coastal Cabanana<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All these items can be found in my <a href=\"http:\/\/www3.stampinup.com\/ECWeb\/default.aspx?email=alisacraig%40westnet.com.au&amp;phone=%2808+%29+8682+1052\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ONLINE STORE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;d also love for you to play along with us at <a href=\"http:\/\/aroundtheworldstampinchallenges.blogspot.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Around the World Challenges<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Check out some of the amazing work other members of the Design Team have created.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This month for the Around the World Challenges we&#8217;ve been playing with products.\u00c2\u00a0 The first round was buttons, and this round is to use Vellum.
