Welcome to Monday, and The Artful Stampers Blog Hop Challenge<\/strong><\/em> number 7!\u00c2\u00a0 This week I’ve not created a card, but a Woven Star Ornament.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

When I came up with the Colour Challenge for this week, I thought I’d make a nice Christmas Card using one of the star stamp sets. I was going to have White and Crushed Curry Embossed stars, Silver Glimmer Paper stars etc, but all that went out the window when I saw a Woven Star on Pinterest (danger danger!)<\/p>\n

My first star was a simple one and it turned out good, a little too big but still nice.\u00c2\u00a0 BUT then I found some more images on Google, but sadly no instructions so it was time to nut it out myself.\u00c2\u00a0 I knew the basics already, it was just the weaving I had to manage.<\/p>\n

Here’s what I ended up with – LOVE!!<\/p>\n

I made this one a lot more smaller and compact, LOVE the way it turned out!<\/p>\n

My strips are 5mm thick and the length of an A4 sheet.\u00c2\u00a0 Once I’d mastered all the weaving in the centre, I trimmed the strips to 80mm.\u00c2\u00a0 I’ve used my colour challenge colours which are Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry<\/strong><\/em> and Sparkly Silver<\/strong><\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0 The Sparkly Silver is the Silver Dazzling Details<\/strong><\/em> I’ve added around the edges of the star. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with it for my first go at one.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 I’m going to try another one with Gold Glimmer Paper!!<\/p>\n

I don’t have a tutorial for it yet, but if I get enough comment love asking for one, I’ll make up a video during the week ;)\u00c2\u00a0 I can tell you know those Mini Gold and Silver Pegs come in real handy!<\/p>\n
