Hey Stamping Friends!\u00a0 Tuesday I set aside the day purely for card making, do you ever do that?\u00a0 After making a few cards, I decided to have a play with a watercolour wash technique and the Thoughtful Branches Thinlits<\/strong><\/em> (which actually has a name of it’s own).<\/p>\n

The watercolour wash technique is super easy and really quick too.\u00a0 I ended up making two cards.<\/p>\n

\"Watercolour<\/p>\n

This was my first card, using just Rose Red Ink<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Start by cutting your Watercolour Paper<\/strong><\/em> to size.\u00a0 Then on a teflon craft mat (can get these in the bbq isle of the supermarket) dab some ink on the mat using your aquapainter or brush.\u00a0 Spritz on some water, and then just press your card onto the ink.\u00a0 I did this several times, drying my watercolour paper with my heat tool in between ink layers.<\/p>\n

I’ve stamped and embossed Happy Birthday from the Better Together Stamp Set<\/strong><\/em> onto Vellum<\/strong><\/em> with White Embossing Powder<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 The clear water like droplets you can see on the card, are actually the White Perfect Accents<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Every time I tried to take one off the sheet with the tip of my scissors, the white sticky backing would come off.\u00a0 I rather liked the look, so I just glued them straight on.<\/p>\n

The leaves of course are from the Thoughtful Branches Bundle.<\/p>\n

\"Watercolour<\/p>\n

For my second card, I used a few different colours on the craft mat.\u00a0 I started out with Crushed Curry<\/strong><\/em> at the top, blending into Peekaboo Peach<\/strong><\/em>, then Flirty Flamingo<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 It’s a shame the Flirty Flamingo is covered, because it’s a really pretty and soft piece of watercolour.<\/p>\n

I’ve used matching Enamel Shapes<\/strong><\/em> as my embellishments on this card.<\/p>\n

I do hope you give this a technique a go, as it was a lot quicker that I thought it would be, especially when you use the Heat Tool to dry the card.<\/p>\n
