Can you believe that Lovely as a Tree is STILL going strong?\u00a0 It’s been so long since that rubber has had ink on it … admit it, it’s been a long time for you too right?<\/p>\n

I decided it would be perfect for this weeks team Blog Hop with The Artful Stampers.\u00a0 Plus I have my hands on a brand new product.\u00a0 Well part of a brand new product that I wanted to try out.\u00a0 We are getting Watercolour Pencils!!\u00a0 *thud*\u00a0 I know right!\u00a0 And they are in Stampin’ Up! colours.\u00a0 I have 3 of them from OnStage.\u00a0 Early Espresso, Old Olive and Calypso Coral.\u00a0 I thought the first two would be perfect to try out with Lovely as a Tree.<\/p>\n

First things first.\u00a0 This week is a Sketch Challenge:<\/p>\n

\"sketch-111\"Now we can get onto the card, and more importantly the pencils *whoop whoop*<\/p>\n

I stamped the Tree onto Watercolour Paper with Black Stazon Ink.\u00a0 Colouring was really easy.\u00a0 For the trunk I just coloured Early Espresso on both sides of the image.\u00a0 Using an Aquapainter, I simply drew the colour out and into the centre.\u00a0 The leaves were just as easy.\u00a0 I scribbled some Old Olive into the darker areas of the tree, then pulled it out with the Aquapainter.\u00a0 The great thing with the pencils, is that if you walk away for a moment, you can still continue colouring.\u00a0 Unlike colouring with inks and markers.<\/p>\n

\"Lovely<\/p>\n

I actually had to do the tree twice.\u00a0 The first one had a little accident with the Stitched Shapes Framelit *rolls eyes*\u00a0so instead of binning it, I used it to add a little dimension to the card.\u00a0 I cut it out and stuck it on top of the second tree.<\/p>\n

The card base is Early Espresso stamped with Hardwood, and heavily sponged around the edges.\u00a0 I haven’t sponged for some time, but you really need to when using Hardwood and dark, rich colours.\u00a0\u00a0 I wanted the sentiment to not take such a focal point, so it’s been stamped in black at the bottom of the card.<\/p>\n

Behind the Tree I’ve popped some Burlap Ribbon, and some threads pulled off the Burlap Ribbon, looped behind the Tree.<\/p>\n
