A Couple of Challenges
Okay this one is a mixture of a couple of challenge, the being a Colour Challenge from CR84FUN, and the second from Shelli’s blog which is to try something new.
Hmmmmm, so my card didn’t work out the way I had it in my mind, actually I don’t know whether there was actually anything in my mind, I just pulled a heap of thing out and went from there. Â I’m not sure that I actually like it.
I started with the DP Love Letters, it’s Riding Hood Red. I then used the Tea Stain Ink from the Essentials Distressing Kit to soften the edges on the DP. Â I then used the damask image from that set I can’t tell you about yet in Crumb Cake over the DP. Â I could barely see it, so then I stamped the flower image in Soft Suede on the DP, then I think I ruined it so set it aside.
I inked up Bliss in Soft Suede and then lightly touched it to Riding Hood Red, stamped on Very Vanilla card, punched out with the Wide Oval Punch, sponged with Tea Stain, layered on 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and the Larger Scallop Punch (still unavailable) Â The flower is inked in Crumb Cake, rolled in Soft Suede, and then rolled in Riding Hood Red, stamped on Very Vanilla and cut out.
The edges of the Soft Suede card and Riding Hood Red card are all sponged in Soft Suede Ink.
Now the ribbon is something new that I’ve been wanting to try for ages. Â First I ran a length of Very Vanilla Ribbon over my Crumb Cake inkpad to colour it. Â Once dry, I sealed one end with a flame to secure the fibres, then on the other end, you find a thread in the middle area of the ribbon, and gently pull on it. Â The ribbon starts to scrunch up. Â Lovely!
Okay so after ALL this I then decided to use the Soft Suede Marker and the Colour Spritzer and add some grunge to the card. Â Put it all together, finish with a couple of tiny pearls on the flower.
Here’s a close up of all the bits, as there’s a fair bit going on with this card.
I’ve got it sitting in my room on display, it’s growing on me.
Oh my goodness….i love this card Alisa…..as well as luvin this set kinda BIG time!!! I have this card in my CASE file….all I need is for the scallop circle (big one) to get the kinks worked out and come back into production again. Magical card Alisa.

love it Alisa. The scrunched up ribbon after being inked is great. the stamp from the set you can’t mention yet looks very interesting too.,..my kind of stamp! I also like how u multi-colour the stamps. cheers.

I don’t know why you’re not pleased with it – it’s a nice and clean card with a lot of wonderful details… my favourite being your scrunched ribbon!! The whole thing is beautiful, thanks for sharing it at CR84FN this week 🙂
