Creative Play with the Linked Together Decorative Masks
Hello, crafty friends! Can you believe we are nearing the end of February? It feels like this short month is flying by, and my to-do list is growing! But amidst the busy schedule, I always love taking time out to craft with you all. In my YouTube live session, we played with the Linked Together Decorative Masks and their coordinating dies to create a bright, happy card full of texture and layers.

Exploring the Linked Together Decorative Masks
The Linked Together bundle is featured in the Mini Catalogue on pages 48-49 and includes stencils, dies, and a sentiment-based stamp set. While I initially skipped the stamp set, I’m now thinking I might need to go back and get it—it has some great large sentiments that would work beautifully with these designs!
The decorative masks in this set allow for a lot of layering, giving you endless creative possibilities. They are designed to mix and match, letting you build up different patterns and textures for unique looks. The coordinating dies also provide intricate cut-outs, including a gorgeous diamond shape that adds extra dimension.

Color Palette & Inspiration
For this project, I pulled inspiration from the catalogue and some Stampin’ Up! design team samples. I started with a Peach Pie and Melon Mambo color combination, adding Shy Shamrock for a fresh, unexpected twist. Initially, I considered Granny Apple Green but opted for something different. To add depth, I layered different stencils and even tried white ink over the top for a subtle highlight.
Techniques & Process
- Base Layer: I used Peach Pie ink for a soft background with the first stencil layer.
- Second Layer: Melon Mambo was added with a slightly heavier hand to bring in contrast.
- White Ink Layer: This was an experiment inspired by a sample in the catalogue. While it added a soft effect, it also picked up some pink tones from the Melon Mambo underneath—just something to keep in mind!
- Die Cutting & Embossing: I used the diamond die to cut out my ink-blended panel and added texture with the Starburst Embossing Folder (a Sale-A-Bration freebie!). This embossing folder gave a beautiful floral texture that tied in nicely with the flowers and leaves.
- Final Details: I cut some flowers and leaves from the coordinating dies, using Melon Mambo for the flowers and Shy Shamrock for the leaves. I also added extra diamond die-cuts in Melon Mambo to frame the focal point. The sentiment, Hoping You Have the Best Day Ever, from the Country Birdhouse stamp set, was stamped in Melon Mambo on white for a crisp look.
The Finished Card
After assembling everything, I debated between using a Melon Mambo, Shy Shamrock, or Peach Pie card base. Ultimately, Peach Pie won out—it balanced the bright colors without overwhelming the design. I finished off with some Iridescent Pearls for a touch of shine.
This card is bold, bright, and full of energy! It was so much fun letting the layering stencils guide the creative process.
Happy crafting!
