Soft Florals & Bold Layers with the Country Birdhouse and Country Flowers
As Stampin’ Up! makes room for exciting new additions, some of our beloved favourites are saying their goodbyes—and this week, I decided to revisit two of my most-used stamp sets: Stampin Up Country Birdhouse and Stampin Up Country Flowers. These two charming sets are currently on the Last Chance List, so if you’ve had your eye on them, now is the time to grab them before they flutter away!
This week’s Thursday Live was all about giving these retiring products one last moment to shine. I CASE’d a layout I had spotted (non-Stampin’ Up!), and transformed it into a unique, layered card full of soft floral colours, arched die-cuts, and a touch of mixed media magic using all Stampin’ Up! products. It’s a bold but elegant style departure from my usual look—and I think you’ll love it.

A Fresh Take with Retiring Favourites
The colour palette I used was soft and gentle—Petal Pink, Light Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Summer Splash. The delicate floral images from Stampin Up Country Birdhouse and Stampin Up Country Flowers were pre-stamped and coloured using Stampin’ Blends to save time during the live, allowing more time to focus on layout and techniques.
If you’re looking to replicate this project, you’ll find that the pairing of these two stamp sets gives you a beautiful variety of small and large blooms to play with. The dies for both sets make it easy to create layers and add dimension without fussy cutting.
Arches for an Architectural Flair
The real standout feature of this card is the Everyday Arches Dies – cut frame design. I used adhesive foam sheets to give the arches some lift and create visual interest on the front of the card. Pro tip: when die-cutting frames like this, cut six nested arches to create five full frames—it’s a clever way to make the most of your dies.
After cutting, I arranged the arches across the card front, trimming the excess for a clean, modern finish. If you’re not keen on wasting the offcuts, this design is perfect for making two cards at once—just reverse the layout and reuse the pieces. I think the rectangle ends would look great too!
For added texture, the Plaster Painting 3D Embossing Folder was used directly on the card base. This helps elevate the design without needing extra layers, which is helpful considering the white cardstock price increase coming soon.

Sentiment & Sparkle
To finish the card, I chose a “Hello” sentiment from the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies. This versatile set embosses and cuts in one pass—brilliant for quick, polished greetings. I added colour using Stampin’ Blends, and when the colouring got a little messy, I simply used a white acrylic marker to tidy up the edges. Sometimes a little creative problem-solving makes all the difference!
Finally, no card is complete without a bit of sparkle. I embellished with a mix of Drusy Dots and Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems for a luxe finish, and brushed a touch of Wink of Stella on the flowers and Hello for subtle shimmer.
