iPads & iPhones
I so desperately want an iPad but am having trouble justifying one. I’m sure I can somehow use it for business.
I’m currently writing this from my iPhone and I’m sure it would be soooo much easier on an iPad!!
Anyhoo did you know you can save Stampin Up catalogues to your phones and pads?? I didn’t, but do now :). You’ll need iBooks which if you don’t have can get from the app store for free. Simply open the catalogue in safari, tap on the top right hand corner of the screen. A button will come up that says something like save to iBooks, tap that and you’re done!!
I could show you a screen shot but then I’d have to kill you! Top secret stuff on there!!
I should have a card for you tomorrow, but in the mean time, sell me on an iPad. You know I want one!!
Of course you need an iPad … You can take it to workshops and input everyone’s orders there and then so if there is anything wrong on the order form you can pick it up straight away, you always get the postage right and you don’t have to spend an hour after the workshop inputting everything. Not to mention having the catty with you in beautiful colour all the time. You can do blog posts while at the hairdressers thereby saving yourself time! I got one in May and rarely leave the house without it., it relieves the boredom while waiting for children at after school activities and makes me a better more patient mum lol.
Alisa – you neeeeeed an iPad! You can claim it on your tax as a laptop! I also use the iWork Apps – keynote, numbers, pages etc in my business. I save catalogues and the SU Impressions mags in iBooks; I FaceTime with my downline who live far away from me too. I find my iPad saves the eyestrain from squinting at a tiny phone screen without the bulk of a laptop. I love it!!!!
thanks for the tip on saving cattys to my iphone, I was doing it through itunes, very time consuming, as for the ipad, my main reason is as an ereader, but yippee it fits in my bag, and I won’t need glasses to read anything off of it, it will also go with me to workshops, etc too, very handy! Spent a day last week using someones Iknow, it sold me!
Not business but you can easily view bogs using an app by feeddler. My favorite thing to do is watch iview ( abc tv) in bed. You can also hook your iPad up to the tv to watch iview or any slideshow of your card displays etc. you can show pictures of suggested card ideas to prospective customers. You can carry the catalogue on your iPad as you have already suggested. Watch YouTube. Use it to take photos. There is an app called Evernote that allows you to organize your thoughts, take photos, record sound, great for convention. also excellent for easily reading emails It has so many uses. Your family can use it as well. You NEED one. 😀
Alisa if you have a wireless printer at home you could do all your SU ordering from your ipad therefore using it for business. You could also do your orders when out on the ipad and then just print them up at home later. I use the calendar app at workshops to schedule the next ones, I have a calculator app on mine so again useful at workshops. I’ve had to look up a past workshop order for a group or regular ladies so they could remember who ordered what at the last workshop when 2 orders mixed together in the hostesses house move. My ipad fits in my handbag so I always have a good size catalogue on hand. Much nicer size than from an iPhone or iPod Touch. There are lots of ways to justify it for business.
