I’m Home!!

Honestly!! I must be the last person from Incentive Trip to update their blog!  You’ve probably read most of what happened, I’m going to tell you again!!

This is the view from balcony 66!  I wont bore you with photo’s of the inside of the rooms, but they were HUGE!!  It was great to be able to chat to others via the balcony too :)  very Melrose Place (speaking of – I saw an AD on TV announcing new series!!)

After a quick little walk along the esplanade, we met in Marelle’s room with Jayne, Jo and of course Dave for some pre dinner drinks.  Dinner was fantastic, then off to play bowls.  Granddad’s Instant Lawn Bowls Guide didnt really help with my performance, but at least I didnt have straight Gutter Balls.  I’ve pinched the below photo from Yvonne, who was on our team with hubby Martin, Jarrod and Jacqui.

Some how our (my) sizes got a bit muddled up and I ended up with a Medium Shirt.  I have a nice summer nightie now LOL.

We arrived home to find a lovely white hoodie as our pillow gift.  Again, sizes a bit funny, I got a Large this time, but it fits well.

Thursday Morning was  buffet style, after a very good breakfast of my usual cereal (boring!) we headed off to ride the Sky/Rail, something we had wanted to do last year, but couldnt fit it in.

Here we are on the train with Sarah Klass, Dave, Marelle Taylor, Myself and Craig.  The ride was alot of fun, we were served yummy fresh orange juice and macadamia nuts.

Of course you have to have a photo of the front of the train!

Once we were up at Kuranda, we had some free time.  Craig and I wandered around the markets, and found a great little German Eatery where we met up with Teresa and Jane and dined on Fried Potatoes, Cheese Kransky’s and Saurkraut (blech!)

Jane is Butterfly MAD so we headed off to the Butterfly House.  I’ve got so many photo’s of Butterflies, but do you think we could get one of the bright blue ones!

And of course we were the last ones back to catch the Cable Cars.  LOVED every minute of it, until I found that the ‘air conditioning’ was an open window ahem!

That night we had drinkies in our room while watching our Thursday gift – a DVD of past Workshop Wow’s from US Regionals (Hi Heather Summers – you are on there!)  Then Marelle, Dave, Jayne, Jo, Craig and Myself headed off for Pizza.  After a quick cuppa at Jayne’s I was ready to call it a night, but apparently Nikki had other plans.  We ended up next door with Nikki, Vicki, Steph and their hubbies until midnight.

We caught up with them again for Breakie – no boring cereal this time – it was Pancakes and ICE CREAM!

Then back to the resort for a morning of Swapping and Stamping.  We each received a little Pumpkin Pie bag with 2 inkpads, versamark and a brand new stamp set from the Summer Mini.

Craig and I pretty much took the rest of the day off, having a lovely nanna nap and in house dinner.  I was very surprised when a knock at the door bought a HUGE box, and inside it, the softest robe I’ve ever felt. (you’ve seen the robe photo, I’m not in that one)  But once again, something went wrong with the sizing, as I ended up with an EXTRA LARGE – Craig thinks I look like Yoda in it!  It comes down way past my fingertips, and down to my ankles LOL

Anyway – On Saturday, we joined up with Teresa and Jane again, hired a car, and went for a little road trip.  First we headed into Cairns, then back to Yorky’s Knob for Lunch.

An hour later and we where away from the ocean, and in the tablelands at the Skybury Coffee Plantation enjoying coffee with this view!

On our way out, Teresa need a pit stop, but came rushing back exclaiming that we HAD to go too.  This must be the most amazing loo i’ve ever been too!  And yes they did have real toilets, we didnt pee in the pond!  It was full of goldfish and yabbies!

We made it back to the hotel with just enough time to get ready for the farewell dinner.  After a very winding road trip (should have gone of the party bus to distract me) we arrived at the Cairns Wildlife Safari Park where we were treated to a fantastic show of fire throwing, twirling, swallowing – you get the idea.

We then had dinner next to these guys.  Very enjoyable evening.

We finished our evening off chatting to Teresa and Jane until nearly 1am back in their room.

Sunday was fond farewells, there are lots of great photo’s kicking around, but I dont have any as I was too lazy to get the camera out!

The trip had almost come to an end, but to liven things up again, our luggage, along with Jayne, Jo’s, Teresa, and Janes, hadnt made it to the bus, but were still in our rooms.  We all managed to get home safely with our bags 🙂

So there you have it!  I’ve met some lovely people, and cant wait to meet them all again in Canberra for Convention.
