Around the World Stampin’ Up! Challenge 29!

It feels like forever since I’ve done an Around the World Stampin’ Up! Challenge!

The challenge for the second half of November is another Colour Challenge.  I must admit I was a little freaked by the colours, definitely not my colours.  Real Red, Crumb Cake and Hello Honey.  Hmmm.

Thankfully my son is going to a Birthday Party this weekend, so the challenge came in handy to make a boy card 🙂

I love that I can use my Little Letter Thinlits with the Big Shot to create a card specially tailored to suit the recipient.

The card base and first set of double layers are Crumb Cake.  The top layer has been run through the Big Shot with the Stars Embossing Folder, and sponged around the edges with the Crumb Cake Ink.

The Real Red panel is also double layer, with the top layer sponged around the edges.  I’ve stamped and embossed Happy Birthday to You with Versamark Ink and Crushed Curry Embossing Powder.  You really can’t tell that I’ve used a different shade of yellow on the greeting.  As I mentioned earlier, I’ve used the Little Letters Thinlits to cut out the name Cooper.  I’ve added some Dazzling Details on his name (the ladies on my Facebook page said it was fine to use glitter on a boy’s card!)

The banner is left as is, no sponging or stamping on it.  I did add a Crumb Cake Star from the Stars Framelits, covered with Dazzling Details and topped with a Nordic Button.

I hope Cooper likes his card, my son assured me that he would appreciate it 😉
