Jar of Love Z Card
Hi All! Last week at Linc n Learn we had a go at Sandi MacIvers Jar of Love Z Card. In fact, we totally CASE’d Sandi’s card. It was a lot of fun, but we didn’t get them made in that week, so we finished them off this week. We did make two of them so that may be why it took a little longer.
I did change a few things like the colour of the green card used, and the embossing folder in the background, but everything else is the same.
The fold is super easy! Just fold your regular card base in half, and then fold the top back on itself. For the second part of the Z, cut a strip, fold it the same way, but adhere it so that it is opposite to the card base. When you fold your pieces, you’ll see what I mean.
Then just add your layers to the panel and decorate. I’ve seen these Z cards with some of the new items in the Holiday Catalogue, so that’s what we’d like to make next.
The colours I’ve used for this card are:
- Bermuda Bay
- Pool Party
- Emerald Envy
- Blushing Bride
- Flirty Flamingo
- Smoky Slate
Loved making this card, and can’t wait to make some more of them.

Love, love, love this double z-fold card!!! Can you give me the initial band height for this card? I have seen many of this card style, but seems like they have different band heights. Thanks for helping and thanks so much for sharing!!!!

Since I work in inches, I kinda guessed it to be 1 1/4″. 3cm is equal to 1 3/16″ so I was only 1/16″ off, a very tiny amount. 🙂
I am amazed also with your next two posts, the Jar of Love one as well as the Thoughtful Branches with the brick wall. Alisa, your cards are just so beautiful!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your talents and also for getting back with me on the height of the band layer. I am so anxious to make this design.
