Colour INKspiration Challenge 175

As soon as I saw this challenge, I wondered if I could pull off a Christmas Card with it…. I think I can get away with this, what do you think?
I’ve die cut all three layers of the Deer Head from Crumb Cake, and then treated each layer to a little colour. The base layer I first coloured with the Bronze Blends (allowed in the challenge rules. The middle layer I added a little Skin Tone 100 Blends to the bottom half of the ears. The top layer, I added some Crumb Cake Ink with a Blending Brush. I had first coloured it with Crumb Cake Blends, but it didn’t look right so I cut another piece and tried again. Then I felt the base layer didn’t look dark enough, so I colour Black Light Blends over the top, it gave a nice warm brown black feeling to it.
For the card layering, I used two pieces of Lemon Lolly card. On the top layer, I applied Crushed Curry Ink to the middle of the card very lightly, and then built up the intensity of the colour right in the middle. I also stamped the little star image with both Crushed Curry and Lemon Lolly Inks.
I felt like the background needed a little more so I pulled out my Wink of Stella thinking I’d do a little flicking to create splatters. Only to find out that there wasn’t enough WofS in the barrel and I didn’t have a spare!!!!!! So, instead, I mixed up some water White Enamel Effects and flicked that on instead. Not quite what I was after, but it still gives a pretty effect.
