Masking, Sponging and Stencilling – Oh My!
Today at Linc n Learn we combined Masking, Sponging and Stencilling all in one card.
Full credit for this card goes to Tracey Wilson. Tracey shared this card with me on my Facebook page. I’d asked the question Sponge or Dauber? Tracey said that she’d been using make up blush brushes to apply her ink. I LOVED the card that Tracey showed me, and asked if I could case it 🙂
We didn’t use make up brushes today. We used the sponges and still had great results.

The sponged background was created by placing a stencil (this one is now retired) over the whisper white card. A template card with of a cut out circle was then placed over the stencil. Sponge the area exposed fairly heavily. Remove the stencil, replace the template and lightly sponge the same ink in the exposed area. It leaves a great background right?
Stamp and cut out cupcakes and the word Sweet. Assemble on the card front, stamp wishes and add some sequins and wink of stella for sparkle. The sequins in the Carousel Embellishment Kit are actually iridescent and have a beautiful sheen to them.
Here’s a list of the products and colours that were used in the card, in case you’d also like to Case Tracey’s card 🙂
