More Merry Snowflakes in Orange and Pink
I’m back with my Orange and Pink colour combo again, and also the Merry Snowflakes Stamp Set.
Over the weekend we had our own South Pacific Stampin’ Up! Craft a long for demonstrators, run by our Demonstrator Development Managers. We had the chance to ‘meet’ the team who design all the projects we see in our catalogues. There were also presentations by Staff members and Artisan Design Team members.
The following cards were the craft a long session with our NZ ADT member. A technique that I haven’t used for some time – Ink Smooshing!

As you know, I tend to lean towards bold colours but for this first card, I thought I’d try the softer look. I started by white embossing the snowflakes on a piece of Basic White card. Swipe some Pale Papaya ink on a plastic sheet (I used a teflon craft sheet), then swipe some Polished Pink under the Papaya. Spritz with water. You’ll get different looks depending on how much water you apply. Dip the top part of the card into the Papaya, and the bottom into the Pink and allow the two colours to run together. I didn’t use a lot of water in the card above, you can see the colours haven’t run together much.

In this card, I used Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo for a bolder look. I also applied a lot more water on the ink this time. You can see that the inks have run together more than the top card.

I really can’t decide which I like best. Subtle or Bold?
The cards are finished by White Embossing the sentiment on Black card, and cutting out. A little bow behind the sentiment and a couple of Rhinestones finish the card.
Which do you prefer?
Cheers for now

Love both cards! I do like a bit of the papaya on the softer card. I’m using a similar look for my Christmas cards. Same colors with the Bobble dies.
