Sadly I’m making another Sympathy Card.
I did wonder whether to write about sympathy cards, but as card makers it is something we make too.
I started off with a Butterfly that I had coloured and cut sometime ago, using the same colouring technique as shown in my Blendabilites Video. The image is a My Digital Studio one called First Edition Butterfly. I’ve used Melon Mambo and Calypso Coral Blendabilites to colour this one in.
The two cardstock colours didn’t look right together so I’ve used Blushing Bride with Melon Mambo to create a softer feel.
The top Melon Mambo layer has been stamped with the Dictionary and Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Sets, and sponged around the edges. I also sponged around the edges of the base card.
I then added a thin strip of Blushing Bride card to the left hand side, secured some Blushing Bride Ribbon to the back with Fast Fuse and tied some Whisper White Bakers Twine into a bow around the ribbon.
Now silly me went and stuck my card together, using Dimensionals to adhere the top panel to the base card, and then I realised that I hadn’t stamped my sentiment to the card! I decided to take a risk and see if I could stamp the sentiment anyway, figuring I’d just have to bin the card and start again if it didn’t stamp nicely. Thankfully it did stamp up well. The sentiment is from Love & Sympathy Stamp Set.
Finally I added my butterfly to the card front with Dimensionals. You can’t see in the photo, but I’ve also added some Wink of Stella to parts of the butterfly and around the tiny border of Blushing Bride that you can see under the Melon Mambo layer. Wink of Stella isn’t a real glitter, but more of a soft shimmer which made the butterfly look very pretty.
